What if you could train your brain to spend more time supporting you—and less time sabotaging you?

With the Positive Intelligence app, daily guided practices (available on your phone or computer) help you build mental fitness by strengthening your Sage mindset.

Over time, you’ll find yourself spending more time in calm, clear, creative thought—and less time reacting to stress, self-doubt, or overwhelm.

This shift is measurable through your Positive Intelligence Quotient (PQ)—and it starts with one small step at a time.

Curious how it works?  It's all in this episode and welcome back to season 6 of Connect Inspire Create.

This Trello board is designed to help you easily track your most important tasks, stay accountable, and feel confident that you’re moving your business forward, even on busy weeks.

00:00:00.194 --> 00:00:04.181
Well, hello, hello, and welcome.

00:00:04.320 --> 00:00:07.685
Welcome back to Connect, Inspire, Create.

00:00:08.246 --> 00:00:14.817
And I can hardly believe that this is actually the sixth season for the podcast.

00:00:14.938 --> 00:00:22.129
And we have been through so many variations and changes, and I am just really excited to be back with you.

00:00:22.149 --> 00:00:28.047
So my last episode, episode 177, go back and Have a listen to it.

00:00:28.086 --> 00:00:29.989
It's actually quite fun.

00:00:30.449 --> 00:00:34.274
The title of it is Crafting Your Unique Life Journey.

00:00:34.314 --> 00:01:01.658
And I actually just listened to it again before stepping in to record this as I come back from a wonderful travel break that had me in Portugal for a And interestingly enough, found this time around working as a coach on the road, coach on a boat, working from different destinations, a little challenging.

00:01:02.338 --> 00:01:09.608
And it led me to actually create a Trello board to help me stay on task and stay focused.

00:01:10.069 --> 00:01:15.195
But that is not the main topic of what I want to share with you today.

00:01:15.236 --> 00:01:26.150
My last episode spoke about the joy and setting goals and what those look like and the importance of the journey of creating them.

00:01:26.691 --> 00:01:28.733
And I've realized that I've missed that.

00:01:29.250 --> 00:01:31.391
Actually recording my show.

00:01:31.412 --> 00:01:36.356
I have missed the wonderful people that I meet along the way.

00:01:36.376 --> 00:01:41.441
And I was just motivated today to try something a little different.

00:01:41.783 --> 00:01:56.778
And that is to record my latest blog post, which is basically just covering what I do as a positive intelligence coach and how I use the Positive Intelligence Foundation.

00:01:57.441 --> 00:02:20.822
I help women coaches and small teams explore what is draining their energy and just sharing these wonderful tools for mental fitness that just helps you create new habits and learn really simple ways to shift, to create a shift and to get into alignment with your day with ease and flow.

00:02:21.729 --> 00:02:35.502
And if you follow me at all on my newsletter, which you are welcome to subscribe to, or any of my posts on LinkedIn, which is perhaps my favorite place to hang out, you will often hear me talk about ease and flow.

00:02:36.183 --> 00:02:57.323
But in this blog post that I wrote about how positive intelligence builds resilience from the inside out, one of the things I just wanted to highlight was the fact that this is an introduction to a daily practice and a really powerful Short exercise, building neural pathways, switching and changing.

00:02:57.704 --> 00:03:13.848
But the repetition over time is what's going to allow you to hear your own sage voice, which the winning formula or the winning solution out of that is the cultivation of a positive, resilient mindset.

00:03:14.250 --> 00:03:23.838
And I certainly believe that that is something that that can serve all of us, whether that be in relationships, in your coaching career.

00:03:23.959 --> 00:03:31.149
As coaches, we so often pour out into others and sometimes neglect to take care of ourselves.

00:03:31.269 --> 00:03:37.116
So what is positive intelligence and how can it shift your mindset?

00:03:37.897 --> 00:03:49.445
So as I mentioned, as a positive intelligence coach, I often find that the simplicity and And the power of this framework becomes even clearer the more I use it myself.

00:03:50.146 --> 00:04:00.561
There are always waves and seasons when one loves whatever app it might be that you're using or method that you're using, but it's not always consistent.

00:04:01.181 --> 00:04:02.283
And that's okay.

00:04:02.824 --> 00:04:07.971
I use other tools for my self-care journey in the morning.

00:04:07.991 --> 00:04:11.216
I love Insight Timer and Headspace.

00:04:11.616 --> 00:04:12.557
And I complement...

00:04:13.153 --> 00:04:26.713
My time where I spend within the Positive Intelligence app with those two and just find the combination of the trio certainly does a lot to help create resilience and a positive day.

00:04:28.336 --> 00:04:42.937
But at its core, Positive Intelligence is about building your mental fitness and it's giving you that ability to handle life's challenges with what we mentioned, greater resilience, clarity and ease and flow.

00:04:44.257 --> 00:04:47.041
So positive intelligence in a nutshell.

00:04:47.062 --> 00:04:57.177
The program was developed by Shehzad Shemain and positive intelligence helps you identify and quieten your inner saboteurs.

00:04:57.557 --> 00:05:00.362
That's the terminology that you'll hear us talking about.

00:05:00.401 --> 00:05:05.889
And those are those habitual negative thought patterns that have been with us forever.

00:05:05.930 --> 00:05:07.892
And we've given them names.

00:05:08.093 --> 00:05:09.134
There's 10 of them.

00:05:09.175 --> 00:05:16.418
And those could be the judge saboteur, perhaps the controller or the pleaser, the victim.

00:05:16.458 --> 00:05:22.487
And when you hear the names, you could sort of hear the resonate where that might be, I recognize that.

00:05:23.127 --> 00:05:30.720
But these come into play and often generate stress, fear, guilt, or perhaps just self-doubt.

00:05:30.800 --> 00:05:37.009
And they hijack our minds and push us into reaction rather than reflection.

00:05:37.711 --> 00:05:38.992
So is there an antidote?

00:05:39.673 --> 00:05:39.934
Yep.

00:05:40.290 --> 00:05:44.055
That's what we love to offer through this program as PQ Coaches.

00:05:44.096 --> 00:05:47.862
It's cultivating your sage perspective.

00:05:48.322 --> 00:05:48.963
And what is that?

00:05:49.944 --> 00:06:00.461
The wiser, calmer part of your mind characterized by empathy, creativity, curiosity, and then being able to take clear-headed action.

00:06:01.083 --> 00:06:15.882
So a lot of this is the right brain, left brain, and we want you to switch from that analytical left brain mindset over to the right brain and see what ease and flow, what peace that can bring into challenging situations.

00:06:16.483 --> 00:06:27.637
So the sage powers that we talk about and the PQ system itself operates from a belief that every challenge contains a hidden opportunity or a gift.

00:06:28.778 --> 00:06:32.144
And sometimes that can be a challenge to say, well, where is the gift in this?

00:06:32.704 --> 00:06:51.617
But if it's not a gift, we teach you how to work with acceptance, for the moment, and then to search for the hidden opportunity because behind everything, along with all your life experiences and everything that you put together, there is learning, there's gifts, and that's made you who you are today.

00:06:51.656 --> 00:07:02.951
So in this practice that we do, this means that when something goes wrong, you want to notice that your hand, we like to use this analogy, your hand on the hot stove.

00:07:02.971 --> 00:07:06.978
So instead of spiraling into judgment or fear, you pause.

00:07:08.257 --> 00:07:14.947
And you center yourself and you'll hear us talking about PQ reps, which is to ground yourself.

00:07:15.067 --> 00:07:19.833
And then you can ask, how can this setback be a gift or an opportunity?

00:07:21.394 --> 00:07:28.723
So when you hear me talking about PQ reps, I want you to think of it like training your mental muscles and just like building physical strength.

00:07:29.665 --> 00:07:32.608
Developing mental fitness requires regular practice.

00:07:32.649 --> 00:07:36.274
And that's why this is a daily application.

00:07:37.089 --> 00:07:42.862
And in PQ, we use these short, mindful-based exercises called PQ reps.

00:07:43.644 --> 00:07:48.134
And these help and work together to strengthen your brain's sage muscles.

00:07:48.675 --> 00:07:50.480
In the app, there's a variety of them.

00:07:50.500 --> 00:07:56.413
And then, of course, you can always include your own mindfulness and meditation exercises.

00:07:56.577 --> 00:07:57.740
and breath work.

00:07:58.560 --> 00:08:08.694
Breathing is such an easy go-to if you feel yourself escalating and overwhelmed and need to settle down and not react and not respond.

00:08:09.254 --> 00:08:25.677
But these reps, these PQ reps that we share in our coaching foundation models, build your capacity just to stay present, help you manage the stress and then return to trying to find the ease and flow and get clarity.

00:08:27.266 --> 00:08:35.678
So when I talk about these app-based tools from PQ, they are actually available both on your computer and for your phone, Android and iPhone.

00:08:36.139 --> 00:08:39.546
And it makes it super easy to build your daily practice.

00:08:40.246 --> 00:08:46.517
There are a whole lot of additional weekly and daily focus items.

00:08:46.537 --> 00:08:57.424
There's a lot of different learning, but there's an area within where you are building your sage steps daily and you have the opportunity to do different PQ reps with different times.

00:08:57.784 --> 00:09:01.269
There's a two minute one and there's a five minute one and there's a 12 minute one.

00:09:01.289 --> 00:09:05.836
So there's different ways that you can bring this into your day.

00:09:06.375 --> 00:09:09.921
And this is just one small step at a time.

00:09:09.961 --> 00:09:23.258
And as my clients build the skill, they do, they really gradually find themselves, oh, I'm spending more time in sage mode and less time caught up in saboteur thinking.

00:09:24.001 --> 00:09:32.774
And there's a measurement, there is a quiz or an assessment that you can take online with positive intelligence.

00:09:32.975 --> 00:09:36.880
And we call it measuring your positive intelligence quotient.

00:09:37.682 --> 00:09:44.251
And this is the percentage of time that your mind is serving you rather than sabotaging you.

00:09:44.292 --> 00:09:56.830
And we recommend taking this, you know, a couple of times during the year just to see where you're at and how you are doing with your building up this resilient, positive mindset.

00:09:57.671 --> 00:10:02.336
So the payoff, presence, perspective, and purpose.

00:10:02.898 --> 00:10:13.792
So lots of research and real-world results show that having a higher PQ correlates with improved performance, better relationships, and greater well-being.

00:10:14.152 --> 00:10:21.980
So you can certainly see how even if you take on learning this method It's going to serve you in so many places.

00:10:22.421 --> 00:10:27.908
So as a coach, it's going to help take care of you and your performance in your coaching business.

00:10:28.508 --> 00:10:34.696
It's going to help you have better relationships with the people around you and then overall greater well-being for yourself.

00:10:35.557 --> 00:10:40.503
So you, beyond the stats, this is the internal shift that really matters.

00:10:40.543 --> 00:10:46.590
You help you to move from emotional reactivity into a grounded state.

00:10:46.721 --> 00:11:15.538
resourceful state and to give you these tools to help you reframe challenges and just approach your life with more ease and flow and focus and beginning to see these little setbacks not as threats but as an invitation to grow because that is a journey that we're all on improving and increasing our mental fitness and our mindset there's never an end we just keep like going to the gym.

00:11:15.678 --> 00:11:17.140
We keep building on this muscle.

00:11:18.201 --> 00:11:33.736
So if you are curious on how you can strengthen your mental fitness and how positive intelligence and myself as a coach can support you on your personal or your professional journey, I invite you to book a complimentary discovery call.

00:11:45.698 --> 00:11:52.990
